Resin bound surfacing has quickly become the #1 choice for homeowners in Bristol, Bath, and the South West. Unlike traditional tarmac or concrete, our resin systems combine natural aggregates with high-performance clear resin to create a surface that is as durable as it is beautiful.
At JD Home Improvements & Son Ltd, we don't just "lay resin." We engineer a multi-layered drainage system that transforms your home’s exterior.
No More Puddles (SuDS Compliant): Our resin is 100% permeable. Rainwater drains directly through the surface into the natural ground, eliminating standing water and reducing flood risks.
UV Resistance as Standard: We only use UV-stable polyurethane resin. Cheaper alternatives used by some Bristol driveway companies will turn yellow or "amber" after a few months of sun exposure. Ours stays crystal clear for life.
Low Maintenance: A simple power wash once or twice a year is all it takes to keep your drive looking brand new. No weeds, no loose stones, and no oil stains.
We are proud to be one of the highest-rated driveway companies in the region.
The "Bristol Resin Company" and other large competitors often use sub-contracted teams. When you hire JD Home Improvements & Son Ltd, you get us.
Direct Responsibility: If you have a question, you talk to the person holding the trowel.
Honest Quotes: You aren't paying for a salesman’s commission or an expensive Bristol city-centre office.
Local Reputation: Check our Checkatrade (9.9/10) and TrustATrader (4.8/5) scores. We have hundreds of local families who can vouch for our tidiness and punctuality.
Often, yes! If your existing base is solid and crack-free, we can clean, prime, and install resin directly over it, saving you money on excavation. We will assess this during your free site survey.
You can usually walk on it after 8–12 hours. We recommend waiting 24–48 hours before parking vehicles on it to ensure the resin is fully cured.
Initially, it can be slightly more expensive per square metre due to the high-quality materials. However, because it lasts longer and requires almost zero maintenance (no re-sanding or weeding), it is often the more cost-effective long-term investment.
Choosing the right surface is a balance of aesthetics, budget, and durability. We specialize in the five core surfaces that thrive in the South West climate.

With a smooth, seamless finish and a huge range of color blends, it’s the ultimate low-maintenance upgrade for any home.
